Step into the shoegaze psych alt rock mayhem of "Mr. Muggs" by Los Angeles psych rockers Compra Y Venta and expect to be lured into a glorious, noisy, psychedelic heavy metal fury. Before that, though, the sound swings with compelling surf rock vibes, hints of lounge punk. It is like a collision of OSEES, Tropical Fuck Storm, Reagan Youth and the guy hanging out at the liquor store who tells weird stories.  

The track is, as the band shares: "An ode to Mr. Muggs, the chimpanzee who was the official mascot of Jonestown. We are all in a position a bit like his, no?"

I dig it.
