"bring it all together / bring it all together..."
The stoned magic of "Bring it all Together" by Belfast, Northern Ireland's bobsled team, at times, feels like a colorful underwater dream. It might be the sort of Lou Reed-esque bass ramble with hints of Cocteau Twins or the infectious midnight guitar sway sprinkled with pixie dust or the gentle embrace of Oliver and Kimberley's vocals that feel like 80's runaways and 90's dancing on the beach. Somehow "Bring it all Together" feels happy and sad at the very same time. Happy because it feels like the unfettered possibilities of youth and sad because if feels like the unfettered possibilities of youth (if you catch my drift).
This lovely track is from bobsled team's sophomore album "All The Flowers Bloom", out now.
The album's LINER NOTES:
[Disappeared for a while writing little astral jams on old tube amps from the 1950s and '60s. The amps sounded great when the Fender Strat and Fender Jazz bass were plugged in. Tweed amps dialed right up. Lots of fuzz and noise. Sounded great with reverb pedals.]
[Dreamy melodies started to float over all the fuzz. Vintage banging drums. Songs happened. We took our time. Days spent reading poetry, painting, listening to the swirling of cosmic jazz. Visited record shops. Drank hot chocolate. Recorded late at night. We moved microphones around. Tried to capture the room. Kimberley painted the album cover. Pressed it on vinyl. It's now spring. All the flowers bloom.]
[We just try to make noise that we enjoy… We hope you do too.....]
YES, we most certainly do.
