"I'm shaking bones just to get you offa' me / I gotta lie just to see what's mine / I'm spewing voodoo cuz the devil has got me / I wrote a letter / just to say that I love you..."
The hustle and slide, rattling alt country ramble, blues garage rock / busker punk "Hang Me Out" by Melbourne, Australia's Subterranean Deadbeats throws down with gritty wild abandon. It's sludgy, beach goth goodness that smells of midnight venues and different types of tobacco might induce a mild hang over just by listening. I absolutely love the hybrid sound that encompasses 70's psychedelic stoner rock and contemporary iterations blending in alt country, desert rock, beach goth and more. Front man Chris Taranto's vocal countenance feels has a freewheeling maybe beat up sound that throws caution to the wind, maybe a collision of Dylan and Gabriel Alcala (Jacuzzi Boys) and overall, the sound has me feeling an amalgam of Chicago based Twin Peaks and the short lived The Babies (Brooklyn indie rock band centered around Kevin Morby and Cassie Ramone), off the top of my head anyway.

Subterranean Deadbeats started around 2021, they started experimenting with old Blues and country sounds for the first release but it didn’t take long for front man Chris Taranto to fall back into his garage rock n roll ways, stay tuned for the new single release “Hang me out to dry” -2024
