The alt- pop / neo soul downtempo grooves and oscillations of "Ultrasonic Boom" by Malmö based producer Slackin Beats featuring Swedish vocalist / artist demekech, from the upcoming album "Off To A Good Start", wraps around you in surprising ways and takes you on a smooth comely ride. On the surface the vibe feels sparse and industrial in nuanced ways but the longer you listen the more you hear going on floating on top and blow the surface and even subconsciously. This sounds fresh but also takes me back to the mid-90's when alternative pop melded with R&B and even art punk into something else. The vocal presence is the evocative Swedish artist demekech whose vocal countenance is an engaging amalgam of sultry soul, vulnerability and strength holding hands and the self harmonies just kill, kill in a big beautiful way.
The only thing wrong with this track, in my humble opinion, is that it is too short.
