Lauded for his blend of post-punk, new wave and rockabilly, amidst a haze of synthy electro beats, Edmonton native, Calvin Love readies the release of his debut LP, New Radar on November 6th.
New Radar is streaming exclusively at PASTE and made Spin's 10 Albums You Hear Now list. Pre-order the New Radar LP here.
The newest signing to Aquarium Drunkard's label, Autumn Tone Records,
Calvin's acclaimed stint at CMJ, included a performance with
labelmates, The Orwells, that VICE called, "completely consuming" and
"well earned."
New Radar
is a collection of songs that draws on Calvin's wide arsenal of
influences ranging from pop, dance music of the 50’s and 60’s to the
punk, electronic, new wave of the late 70’s and 80’s. It's this hypnotic
combination of sounds and mature lyricism that has PASTE proclaiming
he, "manages to infuse catchy tracks with enough emotional depth that
they’ll resonate long after the dance party winds down."
