AP Track Review
Chelsea Pier from Boston's indie electro experimental outfit Stereo Soul Future and from their full length album "Sex Scene" is a multi-colored and textured chamber pop song that percolates on synthetic and organic sounds and beautiful backing harmonies that make you think of Brian Wilson / Van Dyke Parks atmospheres. It feels dream like and somehow kind of hyper realistic and as described by SSF is "an MGMT-like elegy to 1970's New York as epitomized by the life and work of artist Peter Hujar." Other tracks like Emily Blunt push what feels like late 70's proto punk tones with a hint of glam and Skin V. Skin feels like baroque pop with sort of dark goth pop shades. I have yet to delve into the dense trippy album in total but these flavors have me intrigued.
