AP Track Review
L.A. indie duo Courtship. (Eli and Micah) craft supper poppy indie rock / pop songs and Number 1 feels like something between stylized late 70's chamber pop or a theme of a 90's sitcom and I mean both comparisons in the most complimentary ways. The lush dripping waves of sound counter poised with sparse sections built on piano down beats, seriously funky bass and tight drums and beautifully sunny vocal performances is just so infectious. The result is not only just plain celebratory but musically chill with light jazz blues undertones. Love this track.
Got to their Facebook page here to check out some upcoming gig dates.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Whether you're cruising down the highway or slow-dancing, this breezy slow-burner has got a 70's-inspired sound that'll have you remembering all the times you weren't quite good enough. Yikes. Cascading piano fills the track and retro vocals bring to life the poignant message, "Baby you're fun, but you'll never be number one."
The duo elaborate, "We wrote this song because we all know what it feels like to be number 2. Not good. The line 'baby you're fun, but you'll never be number one' sums it up perfectly."
L.A. duo courtship. sound like the musical lovechild of Tame Impala and Vampire Weekend. Their summery, 70's-inspired sound brings good vibes to poignant and heart-felt messages. The duo have garnered the attention of many from placements on Spotify's New Music Friday to blog love from mxdwn, Hillydilly, HITS Daily Double, and many more.
Weaving inspiration from their favorite artists growing up-ELO, Daft Punk, and Burt Bacharach- into the creation of their sophomore LP, The Art of Breaking Hearts (due out early December) courtship. deliver their signature sound and it packs a punch.
"Knack for funky freshness..." - HITS Daily Double
"Carved a niche for writing ebullient, sunny synth pop prime for the first day of summer." - Billboard
Earlier this year, courtship. released the official video for their single "Guy Stuff," which takes you back in time with a 50's-inspired video, featuring the talented Julia Goldani Telles (The Affair, Bunheads). Watch as this spunky housewife breaks the mold and lets go of all her inhibitions.
After a year on the road with bands such as Passion Pit, The Wombats, Weezer and many more, L.A. duo courtship. went back to the studio to make The Art of Breaking Hearts record, which follows their highly successful Denial In Paradise album. With over 20M streams on tracks like "Tell Me Tell Me" and having garnered praise from numerous tastemakers like NME, mxdwn, All Things Go, ALT Radio, and more, courtship. is just getting ready to knock our socks off with their new music.
