"Prog and heavy, with a soft middle"
Slumberjack's passionate rocker Tired, Open & Wild, the first single from the full length "Big Shoots" dropping on March 13th (2020) on Glad School, move in truly surprising ways. From the progressive rock swings, dynamic time signatures and jagged down beats it is kind of all over the place but perfectly placed. It works on emotional and musical levels and makes perfect sense given the inspirations that drew this song outside normal lines, outside standard rock conventions.
As Slumberjack offer: (Tired, Open & Wild is)
"An open letter to a relationship that has endured drug addiction, suicide attempts, infidelity and a number of other happenings. The track is about longing for something to be right when it has been wrong for most of its history. An honest display of a very intimate relationship. Prog and heavy, with a soft middle."
