"alter egos of Mega Emotion"
Just look at Lady Di, their adorable faces. When I look at them (at least at the pic above) I think of warmth, hugs and getting stoned but that's just me. I make grand intuitive assumptions about things and people sometimes but enough of that, but look at them! They are a fetching group who are the split alter egos of the musical outfit Mega Emotion. Yes, two distinct sounding bands made up of the same adorable people, namely Lisa Horton, Ian Ross and Jan Robertson (all ex-Bearsuit: Fortuna Pop / Fantastic Plastic). On one hand Mega Emotion (performance wise) is more psyche rock garb and electro pop, Lady Di is more plaid shirts and melodic post punk.
Their track AAAAA (now try to say that stoned or otherwise) is raucous, distorted post punk, with big down beats and a quiet / loud aesthetic as it should be. Of the song the band says:
"Indie slacker-pop song AAAAA imagines a trashed world where landfill covers the earth & the oceans are mountains of desiccated seashells, pushed around by blind men til a goddess comes to save the day"
Too cool and potent. Awesome. FYI: Lady Di and Mega Emotion will release a split vinyl album this April. I wonder who will open up for who at the album release show?

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Inspired by the likes of Dinosaur Junior, The Breeders, Urusei Yatsura and The Lemonheads, Lady Di promise dumb-ass slacker rock, drunk summer nights, chaotic noise, cherry lip balm and hearts on fire.
The band started last year and have already supported the likes of Part Chimp, Mammoth Penguins and The Burning Hell.
They are the new alter egos of Mega Emotion, and the two bands are made up of exactly the same personnel – Lisa Horton, Iain Ross and Jan Robertson (all ex-Bearsuit: Fortuna Pop / Fantastic Plastic).
While Mega Emotion bring psychedelic stage-wear and icy electro pop, Lady Di offer the opposite – plaid shirts and melodic grunge punk.
The two bands will release a split vinyl album on April 3 2020.
