"and all the kids are fucked up"
L by NY dream pop / rock outfit Laveda is an epically rendered cacophony of angst, bittersweet love and ennui. It also is such a dichotomy of sounds, at once lo-fi, distorted but also so lush and ethereal. The languid beat and barbiturate drip vox add to the allure, to a feeling of malaise and fiery pain and is sounds all so goddamn beautiful. Sometimes it is beautiful, pain that is, because it reminds us what is important.
L is from Laveda's debut album "What Happens After" that drops on June 10th (2020). You can hear selected cuts and pre-order at their Bandcamp page.

About Laveda
Hailing from NY, dream pop/rock outfit Laveda set nostalgic and cinematic moods with a guitar driven sound reminiscent of The Sundays, Ringo Deathstarr, or Hatchie. Founding members Ali (vocals, guitar) and Jake (vocals, guitar, synths) voice the concerns of today’s younger generation in an early single Better Now and say that this will be a main theme throughout their debut record “What Happens After” releasing Summer, 2020.
The band has been playing extensively in and around the New England/NYC area and completed a full 2 week Northeastern US/Canada tour in summer 2019. Just recently they embarked on a second tour down the East Coast (US) with bassist Dan Carr and drummer Joe Taurone that was due to culminate in Austin at SXSW (canceled due to COVID-19).
The band's full length LP is scheduled for release in Spring 2020 and will be pressed onto 12" vinyl.
