"and your mind may be lost but I see you in the dark"
BF/C's inescapably dreamy and moving track Year of the Rat was written at the end of January (2020) when Barish Firatli and Californiaman met up at a piano bar in Gothenburg, Sweden. In less than an hour they had written the moving sing-a-long. I love when pieces of art happen in such a kismet sort of way. I wonder how many drinks had been consumed, I wonder if the words came trippingly or was there back and forth trades and words scratched out on napkins. Whatever is, was the case, I absolutely love the back story and the song itself that feels like a garden rock ballad birthed in the late 70's complete with sort of honky tonk piano, stirring vocal harmonies to boot and, yes... those "la laaa laa la naaa na naaa."

BF/C is the acronym of Barish Firatli & Californiaman - two alley cats currently in Sweden. They do whatever they want - also musically.
