Praise by Denmark's Cherryhead might be like religion itself, a shiny musical McGuffin that drops a cracker and wine on your tongue but leaves you too soon and not saving you in the end. This is not to say that I don't like this savory song, I do but somehow it feels somehow under-developed. It has all the sultry gospel come ons of a George Michael song but stays circular like you are waiting for Elvis to come on stage and when Cherryhead does make his entrance (aka Jack Kilburn) it feels fleeting. That's perfectly fine. Someone once said, "Always leave them wanting more" and I do.
"The title track Praise is a tribute to parents and the attempt to satisfy their expectations." - Cherryhead
Cherryhead's "Praise" EP is out now.
