"making desire"
When you hear Jenna Balfe's commanding askew vocal aesthetic cutting through the plucking bass and terribly heavy electro tinged drum beat of Burn you might feel childlike, shrinking in size with your inner child looking for your mommy and looking up at her you feel her say, "Oh, baby, we're not in Kansas anymore." Then she would turn into a big black crow and fly away. Ok, while this might only be my quarantined addled fever day dream, the divergent sort of electro punk of Donzii out of Miami do create crazy, dark but totally engaging atmospheres. Starting out as a sort of art performance collective they are what they are now (good for us all).
Every generation needs their "Siouxsie and the Banshees" and Donzii with the beautifully askew vocal aesthetic of Jenna Balfe might be ours.
Donzii is Jenna Balfe on vocals, Dennis Fuller on bass, Danny Heinz on guitar, Miles Hancock on keys & Monroe Getz on drums.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
From the humid, subtropical strangeness of Miami, crossed with the jagged quickness of New York City, Donzii emerged. Combining performance art with a pension for drum machines and bass driven songs, Donzii and Jenna Balfe create an invigorating voice. Donzii began as a collaboration for an art show. They became quickly known for their performance art narrative and skilled musicianship which amassed a cult following in Miami. Their sound, replete with mythical utopian guitars, can be compared to No Wave and Post Punk, yet they do align themselves with any one genre. Currently Donzii is Jenna Balfe on vocals, Dennis Fuller on bass, Danny Heinz on guitar, Miles Hancock on keys & Monroe Getz on drums.
