"you say I've been bad"
42 King is the garage rock / punk glory musical project of Kurt Collins (bass /vox) and Sam Ward (drums) and ?? based out of Los Angeles and their latest offering is the song / video, Don't See Why Not, and as much as I dig the song with it's raw, cluster fuzzed aesthetic, rad drumming, classic rock and roll punk vocals and overly catchy chorus, it is the video that charmed my pants off. So as I sit here in my underwear I think about the band's sense of fun and feral rock and roll. I like what Collins has to say about their process:
We recorded this straight to 2-inch tape on a 16 track desk in Echo Park, CA. We we're very hyped to release this song and started pre-production on music video. Then the quarantine happened. Since all of our plans got squashed by the lockdown. The video was made in effort to let the viewer use their imagination as the story moves along. And also play into extreme self-deprecation. There has never been a better time to try and make people laugh and smile.
Touche 42 King.... touche.
