"let's reach back and get back to the sea"
The short but impactful Town by L.A. based indie folk / bluegrass revivalists Water Towert is a song about seeking fresh starts, maybe even redemption. It has a heavy heart but a beautiful light lilt too. It might speak to any of us who found death (of spirit) in any particular place and is seeking a better life in somewhere else or maybe coming home. The band recently released their debut album "Fly Around" (Dutch Records), a ten track concept album. The songs are a bluegrass and folk alchemy with psychedelic and punk influences stirred in the mix. Water Tower shares this about Town:
"This song is about the pain of addiction that I experienced while living in Portland Oregon. The realization that I needed to leave the town I was in. It was almost a goodbye letter to my partner at the time.."
Welcome to or back to Los Angeles (whatever the case maybe).
