What About That Day is the third single from L.A. folk dreamster Jenny O.'s upcoming album "New Truth" dropping on June 19th (Mama Bird Recording Co.) and while the song tops out at a few seconds over three minutes long, I swear that it feels like a full-fledged movie. There is something about the gentle forward guitar picking but more so Jenny's vocal aesthetic and knowing melodies. When the drama of the synths flood in, at once feeling like a 50's horror throw back with layered harmonics, the song takes on a truly cinematic feel. The character of Jenny's voice is something else too and while I have not heard her speak, I get a sense that her tone would be earthy and interesting as well. It is the character of her voice that is so compelling, she is a key actor in this movie, um... song along with her amazingly beautiful melodies and harmonies.
