"I wish for peace of mind but everywhere I look is bleak"
Celebration Guns hail from Arizona (USA) and their track If Wishes Were Fixes is a hard post punk rocker with proggy tendencies. It is steeped in a spiraling sadness and while it was written before 2020, it feels so entrenched in the current abyss of negativity in the world. The song moves on a emotionally deep narrative with melodies that sway while the bass, drums and guitar absolutely churn around them. If Wishes Were Fixes, in the end, is a tightly wound alternative rocker with beautiful lyrics simmering in a dark despondency. There is not a glimmer of hope in the words either but sometimes you have to feel the darkness to eventually find the edges of light. Very cool song.
