"yeah, yeah I get it I know!"
Lancaster (UK) post punk trio, TV FACE, on the scattershot caustic She Gets Old pour down a thumping beat and then proceed to spit all over it with virulent vox and especially beautifully manic guitar strikes. I love the sheer punkery here and think of punk stalwarts like Gang of Four and the Dead Kennedys. This is not to say that TV Face is necessarily informed by those bands or sounds like them, let's just say that they are cut from the same sweat and blood stained cloth (musically speaking of course). When guitar breaks happen it is so heavenly and when the eruption of girl boy vox catch fire it is so fucking smile inducing. Damn it.
TV FACE are sTeVe (vocals/guitar), Brigit (bass/vocals) and Neil (drums) and they have been together for just over a year. They say She Gets Old "is about being hounded on social media"
Their next EP "Work Hard, Have Fun" dropping August 28th (2020) features ‘Orange Carbuncle’, ‘Happy Delusions’, 'She Gets Old' as well as the forthcoming August single, ‘Work Hard, Have Fun’. The lead track is currently on the Amazing Radio B playlist.

Reviews
"angular musical shifts, front forward drums, heavy fresh cut dirty guitars and boy / girl vox with wide eyed diatribe'l vocal aesthetics. This sound, potent, full of chunky double time build ups and rebel yells is the kind of music I love, the kind of music you want to see LIVE in a small venue, so close that some sweat might catch you in the face.” (American Pancake)
A full-on, invigorating assault on the senses, you can almost smell the anger .. The raw beauty of the vocals and arrangement overwhelm you, with each wave of passionate noise taking the song to ever more giddy heights. If you like the multi-focused sonic experiments of Sonic Youth but also the inspirational energy of Manic Street Preachers, then this song is for you. (Analogue Trash)
“‘Yarns’ is built around cool guitar riff after cool guitar riff. The mood, however, is more in line with the US 80s alternative bands such as Dinosaur Jr, Pixies or Sonic Youth. But don’t worry, TV Face do their own thing here. The lead vocals are gutsy without being aimless shouting. The backing female vocals have a Kim Deal vibe, but add a sense of melody, intricacy and interest ... brilliant.” (When The Horn Blows)Airplay
