"it took a lot to find out, yeah it took a lot to find out"
When the world is burning down, our social discourse is done from 6 feet away, hugs between friends have to be pantomimed to each other and kisses blown over social media maybe we need an unabashedly sweet and endearing (and maybe syrupy) pop song to escape into. Austrian producer filous to the rescue, featuring The Kooks with the beautifully youthful track Hey Love that bobs and skates on rainbow cast ice flows.
Hey Love is the first single of a project that the 22-year-old visionary producer (who goes by Percy) is in the midst of, crafting song with a number of artist who will voice them like previous singles "Monday" ft. Ashe and the indie hit "Bicycle" ft. klei. But there are other stunning creations in his mind like a website experience where listeners can modify the production of set tracks themselves. "Recently I have been thinking about ways to playfully introduce people into the world of a music producer," Percy adds. "For this release we designed a website which hosts a virtual replica of my personal mixing console that you can interact with and manipulate the individual recordings of the song, showcasing the production behind it."
filous has captured youthful love and abandon. Visionary indeed.

"It's not everyday that you get to work with a band that inspired a whole generation," Percy shares. "Getting the opportunity to make music with The Kooks is something I am very grateful for. From writing the song to working on the production with them, I really got to witness their genius intuition, that is so prevalent in their music, first hand. When it came to producing the song, I wanted it to end up sounding like a logical evolution from their own releases, while giving it a new spin. The idea was to give their english sound a viennese touch. Distortion meets cleanliness. Guitars meet Violins. The Kooks meet filous."
The refreshing "Hey Love" feels like the soundtrack of summer 2020 - it's equal parts nostalgic, authentically honest, and slightly rebellious. filous seamlessly blends modern production into this indie, acoustic track. The quirky and effortless nature of Luke's vocals are accompanied by stunning violins, striking guitar, and sunny whistling trailing in the background. It's a song you'll have on repeat all summer long.
