"you can wait with me"
'Wait With Me' from Devon (UK) based indie alt folk outfit Enfant Terrible reminds you of the power of being artfully reserved and the exquisite beauty of it too. It obviously helps when the art is crafted so well. 'Wait With Me' moves on percolating acoustic guitar, textured and filled with wanderlust from the onset. When subtle hushed female / male waves of harmonies flood in with melodies that gently rush then retract, you are pulled into the slow ascension. Then when the beautiful piano falls in, stair stepping down you are floating. The folk orchestration framed with interesting electronica that feel a bit out of place but (absolutely is in place) is surprising and adds to the beauty. Nuanced textures of harp and a trumpet melody (that does not follow the usual chamber pop tropes) builds on the sad tenderness in beautiful ways. The track feels cosmic like two souls touching in unexpected ways.
"you said that love's an art, not a science"
‘Wait With Me’, inspired by the Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt) is from their forthcoming EP "L’air du temps" that is scheduled to drop early this October (2020).
