On the crystalline "Surrendering", Norwegian singer-songwriter, Juni Habel seems to take you back and forward at the same time. There is a purity here so devoid of modern indie tropes that her artistic aesthetic feels set in the earthy folk of artists like Joni Mitchell and Nico but her mesmerizing vocal persona and her exquisite self harmonies also feel so exacting and so very beautiful as if her folk orchestrations are prescient. A new dawn if you will, something transcending out of the muck of before, a new beginning.
During these unprecedented tumultuous times filled with uncertainty, a lot of despair and suspicion, I listen to Habel and I feel calmer. Maybe it is the beauty of her nature, maybe it is the duality of her harmonies that feel like an embrace, maybe it is hope.
"Surrendering" is the 3rd single from Juni Habels debut album “All Ears” set to release November 6th via Koke Plate. She says that, “Surrendering is a song about creativity and the joy and fear of making things.”

Once in a while, artists equipped solely with an acoustic guitar and their own voice, can catch you completely by surprise. You might be familiar with the tools, but despite that, the sound coming out of the speakers can be something singular.
Juni’s folk tunes takes inspiration from other artists who have great success creating less-is-more art, like Joni Mitchell, Jessica Pratt and Joanna Newsom. The warm, somber vocals weave well together with the atmospheric, spellbinding guitar play.
