"with a charcoal heart and a head of shame..."
Los Angeles based Bird Concerns have a way of injecting an artful heaviness into their beautifully and sometimes oddly positioned phrasings, art rockisms and dramatic rushes of progressiveness. There are as many reasons why as there are opinions about a splatter of black ink on paper but for me, the band feels like an amalgam of bands like Interpol, 90's Radiohead, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra (to name a few). There is something grand and different here. Listening to their blend of post punk trippiness and post rock artfulness on "Breathing In Burning Out" there is a poised artful sense of purpose, maybe a striving to be more than simply derivative. A push to be special and not be ashamed of it.

Bird Concerns is a Los Angeles based garage rock band. Bird Concerns began as a collaboration between Seattle based Marcus Buser, and SoCal native Travis Meador. With the addition of drummer Cooper Wolken and guitarist Jake Sucher the band has grown to a full rock and roll quartet with four part vocal arrangements, interweaving guitars, and infectious grooves.
