"so wake up while you can"
Swedish artist, singer-songwriter Dolly Dolores has a voice that will lift you up and while suspended in an ethereal place, life might just feel so surreal and thus, more real in the end, at least when you feet touch the ground once more. Her latest single "Dream" built on instruments such as the Omnichord and a classical Ondes martenot synth and pushing a sort of 50's doo-wop soul sound on a barbiturate drip feels like a David Lynchian hallucination. Her layered self harmonies, resonate and earthy within this starship of a song are so utterly captivating and transportive. The big country western guitar note plucks (whether a guitar or not) only add a dark nostalgia. There is a sense of white picket fences, maybe leaning, maybe chipped and splintered and the loss of reality forever.

Swedish artist and songwriter Dolly Dolores latest single “Dream” is a heart felt and timeless anthem to persuade young people to follow their dreams before the cynicism of adulthood sucks the joy out of their lives. Sonically the music is inspired by lofi indie and classic soul and doo wop. The song is filled with unconventional instruments such as the Omnichord and a classical Ondes martenot synth. “Dream” will have it’s release on the 12th of February 2021.
With "Dream" Dolly Dolores is back after six years of silence following her previous success in both Swedish radio and television with the song "På måndag börjar jag igen" where she collaberated with instrumentalists from other great Swedish acts such as The Ark, The Cardigans, Damn! And Eggstone.
The new material is the result of deep soul searching and inspired by her failures due to her being a millennial and therefore not having enough ambition or work ethic to complete anything.
Dolly Dolores is currently working on more music and songs that will be released in the coming year. With the new music Dolly Dolores creates her own skew and distorted sonical world where themes such as inadequacy and love are central.
The song is recorded in Hurfva Gramophone studios and produced by Christopher Dominique who worked with other Swedish greats as Bob Hund, Eggstone and Ola Salo.
The song is released on indie label Domp Records.
