"I'm just a mirror for your truth..."
The argument can be made that Italian-Egyptian multi-dimentional artist Kidä (born in New York and based in London) doesn't craft art but is art herself. The track "Brother", from her debut EP "Burn To Make It Glow", struts and grooves in such a profound way. The beat with flat tom percussion pushes forward as the absolutely lush and darkly cool thick bottom heavy bass synth lines anchor the groove down. The tubular tone to the droning wash of other synths and other sounds that oscillate feel like something between darkwave and horror pop. It is a heady, intoxicating mix but what exquisitely pulls you in is Kidä's vocal aesthetic and performance. It is so self-assured, organic, deeply soulful, beautiful with a gritty punch.
"Brother is a song about solidarity and protecting each other."
Kidä ability to hold sway, to feel at once like a diva while feeling earthy, raw and real simultaneously within this vox populi R&B indie electro pop piece of cinema is stunning.

Kidä is an Italian-Egyptian born in New York and based in London. Her multidisciplinary work encompasses sound design and composition, and is inspired by a wide variety of music, film, and visual arts. Her own music and image is sacrosanct. She conceives her own videos and acts as art director for all packaging and photo shoots. Chameleon-like and rapidly transforming, Kidä’s strength lies in her shape-shifting and she fiercely explores her own desire for transformation in "Burn To Make It Glow", out April 7th.
Her debut single ’Kneel To You’, premiered on BBC Radio 1 and was dubbed “the best song I’ve ever played on the radio” by Def Jam’s Genesis Garcia on Not 97 podcast, describing Kidä as “ t
rippy, intense, mysterious... A multifaceted and versatile artist with unlimited creativity... ”
Her recent release “The Garden” was dubbed “Song of the Year” by Dev Hynes.
Operating in parallel to her artist project, Kidä’s work as a composer in the fashion world — under the moniker A Portal To Jump Through — has seen her develop original scores for clients including Gucci, Dior, Prada, and Fendi.
