"Paranoia" by Berlin based alt rock, pysche rock band, Revo, moves lithely with wonderfully counter poised elements from a snaking absolutely gravitating bass line by Victor Nissim, pearly pristine guitar falls accentuated by hard harmonics and big eruptions by Jan Kurfürst , drum attacks that as heavy as they are have a jazz element in how Altaïr Chagué highlights the spiraling fray and Leo Barbato's emotionally wrought vocal aesthetic. "Paranoia", as the band states, "is a song about giving too much and getting nothing in return" and Barboto's performance from a sort of droll broken aloofness to blinding rage is on point.
I very much appreciate the bands thrust here, precisely measured and not overly produced or slick. It is bare and naked when it needs to be and breaks down without feeling too cluttered. I am feeling an amalgam of psyche rock, hints of a grunge sway, with prog rock affections around the edges and Leo Barbato's vocal performance bathed in punk tones. Get lost in this song, you will hit replay multiple times.
Alternative Rock, Nu Metal band based in Berlin. Heavy riffs, crying guitars, and both distorted and melodic vocals make the sound of the group. Influenced by bands such as Pantera, Opeth, RATM, and Porcupine Tree. Prior to the pandemic, the quartet was gigging in Berlin venues Maschinenhaus, Badehaus, and Marie Antoinette.
Revo, alternative rock, psyche rock, post punk, "Paranoia", tight guitar driven, emotionally pushed vocal performance, Berlin
