"I can still remember the sound, I remember the smell..."
The amp buzz at the beginning of LA based Buckets on their post punk roller coaster "Burn" and from their current 'debut' eponymous album, is a precursor of things to come. The track layers a lot of feelings, a lot of sonic textures. The heavy downbeats fully post punk but with blues rock Hendrix-esque affections, the hip hop stacked on top of lounge punk tones and then further funkified (woooooh) is a wonderfully diverse blend of sounds. When the ambient sort of house party vibe takes over I smile broadly at how real improvisational tones are as important as fully crafted artful psychedelic. Very cool art here, very cool.

Introducing Buckets: The brand new 4-piece indie-punk outfit hailing from Los Angeles. Tanner Houghton's unvarnished and outspoken vocal style, paired with Sasha Massey's bright, riff-driven guitar playing allows the rhythm section (held down by Hiram Sevilla and Mitch Rossiter) to fully explore the dynamic extremes that encompass the band's new take on the genre.
