"I see the city skyline burning bright..."
"Eyes" by Trouvère, the musical project of singer-songwriter, producer Dwight McGlynn exists as a cathartic journey, a three act play between love and utter loss, between a lullaby and a eulogy. I cannot write more because I just can't. It is best to step aside and let you feel the emotional narrative and let Dwight's words (garnered from his Facebook page) reveal his personal feelings.
"I was a cage for months after the passing of Luna. I couldn’t weep with family, talk of her with friends, or acknowledge her in my solitude. The writing of this song marks the first time I confronted her coming and going. It was the fear of forgetting my time with her that gave me the courage to embrace, head on, the pain and beauty surrounding her life; and it’s impact on me. I did my best to record the memories and emotions her presence and, sequentially, absence evoked. I remember the tears as the lyrics poured out effortlessly. It was an overflowing release of everything I had pent up inside, for much too long. It was the first time I cried since holding her, lifeless. I am so grateful for writing this; as to me, it serves as a place where I can re-embrace her at anytime, in memory.
I hope you all find a way to relate and find meaning to this story. I know a lot of us have lost a lot, recently.
Much love to you all." - Dwight McGlynn

Relocating from upstate New York, Dwight McGlynn (Singer-songwriter), moved to Lynchburg Virginia in 2012 to study Classical Guitar. After playing in several bands, McGlynn formed Trouvére with its original members Jay Bisaga (bass), Riley Ball (drums), and Stevie Mangum (Lead E.G.). In the early stages, the group built their sound by playing numerous house shows and venues around the Lynchburg region. Growing in familiarity, the group became known as a staple band in the Lynchburg music scene. After several months of playing, the group entered the studio to record their freshman EP, St. Luna. The EP gained some traction in the area; getting online streaming as well as radio play on Charlottesville's WNRN. The group synthesized a dynamic sound that utilizes ambience with intriguing harmonic structure and transparent lyrics.
In the fall of 2017, Trouvére relocated to Morganton NC with a rotating outfit of members; Dwight McGlynn still remaining as songwriter and producer of the project. Since, when not teaching public school music, McGlynn has been writing new tunes under Trouvére and has been playing local venues around Western North Carolina. Working with Peter Brownlee out of Asheville, NC Trouvére is currently recording their second EP, to be released this fall.
