"man has always dreamed of conquering the barrier of the atmosphere..."
"11am Sunday Korean Time", by Sociedad Síntrica Dodecafónica, starts off like a chill indie rock repose and reminds me, somewhat, of Yuck (circa Daniel Blumberg version). In the background there is the faint ramblings of what sounds like sci-fi or documentary voices, public domain fodder that adds a nice odd sensation but I love when they fade away and the song takes off (no pun intended). The opposing sounds, pummeling bass lines, screaming guitars and crying feedback flailing away into a storm of dissonance is potent and darkly dreamy. When the dinge of sound settles back down into the Yuckian groove you hear footage of an actual new broadcast when North Korea declared war on South Korea at 11am Sunday Korean Time.

Sociedad Síntrica Dodecafónica is the new project of the multi-instrumentalist and composer Jœser Salvensé. A musician from Barcelona, he moved to Madrid where he participated in the garage revival scene of the 2000s. After several projects, he returned to the sea where he created sounds that invite you to travel inside; to search in memory for those moments between dreams and awakening.
