Frank Moschetto and the discordant breakdown of "YRWK / DRWK"

"YRWK / DRWK" (Young Rich White Kids / Drunk Rich White Kids) by New York bred, Los Angeles based singer songwriter, creative, composer for TV and Film, Frank Moschetto is a noisey desent into what feels like a breakdown. Whether a punk pummeling sprialing down into the despair of the privilege among us who squander opportunities or a sort of comeuppance story or a reflection in the mirror or something else, I couldn't help but get lost in that noise. It starts like a soundtrack to something surreal and eerie like a lost track from Donnie Darko as the robotic voice of a phone recording fades off, the vocals unleash among a rabid beat and staccato guitars, "we were just dumb that day, I don't know what to say, I don't know what you want". The voice as erratic as a drug addict that just woke up from a binge, "we're just young rich white kids HUH!"

The song hammers at you as things get worse and worse "and the things I used to dream about are things I now just talk about... everybody's laughing now...". As the song punches and swings as the author of this somber story is drowning there is a never ending feeling of loss but it does move you. Forget about the Donnie Darko reference, this sounds like a lost soundtrack to The Basketball Diaries and while there is no connection to hard drug use (at all), obviously alcohol takes the largest toll and there is the feeling of losing whatever dream you have had in youth to something else, whatever it is.
