Mono XL and the synth pop punch and nostalgia of "Brown Eyes"

Mono XL is a UK based synthpop, dream pop artist, singer, songwriter musician and his unrequited love song "Brown Eyes" has a lot of heart. It might be a broken one but still. The track moves on pulsating synth rhythms, keyboards and very cool electric guitar embellishments and lead lines. I like the blending of textured sounds that sometimes feels nostalgic. The smashed drum sounds feel 80's new wave and the spectrum of synth sounds go from dirty to more grand and I flashed on old school synths like the Casio CZ-101 or Roland Alpha Juno 2. The vocal aesthetic feels earnest and perfectly bruised up by love. Digging the hooky emotional shapes and the surprising time signature swap and shape shifting coda. That twist itself elevates the entire sonic narration. It makes everything before it feel more moving. Quite brilliant.
