"I want to be ignored by everybody but you..."
As long as there are young kids who listen to Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and / or The Pixies there will be bands like 3 piece Adelaide, Australia based Nocturnal Animals and that fact is a fucking glorious thing. Their latest "Where's My Mind Been?" has such a delicious guitar sound, loud and quiet, quiet and loud aesthetics with such a kick heavy drum sound and vocals that have the perfect blend of artful angst, out of breath hushed scowls and back of your bleeding throat screams.
The boys share that the song is "about that space of time after a relationship where you lament on the feelings of regret, wanting to have another chance to fix what went wrong. It’s a place where you can start to lose part of yourself in the realization you can’t change what is.”
Nocturnal Animals, here, craft a hypnotic hook filled romance anti-anthem. "La lah lah..."
