"tell me why no one else will do..."
Still you cannot deny the intricacies in this indie rock song that floats beautifully like a grand pop affair. To an old dog like me, I hear the ghosts of 60's Brit pop, late 70's progressive new wave (especially in that amazing organ sound) and current indie rock and pop blends. The chord shapes here, time changes and emotional shifts are a lot to unpack. Jono Robertson's songwriting serves up more surprises the deep you go in but in doing so "Seven Years" feels more amazing after those repeated listens.
