"it's the box room blues on the radio, it's the song you love bout the people you know..."
"Boxroom Bangers" from Teenage Tom Petties' self titled debut album comes up easy spouting jangle pop tones that somehow made me think of Dinosaur Jr and Husker Du all at once. Digging Tom's commanding vocal aesthetic, that feels thrashy, earnest and cool. As the song moves along it gets harder, edgier and a bit agro and then ends at a little more than only 2 minutes. I like the hard vast emotional atmosphere here like life lived and getting fucked up by it and dig how Tom tells the stories and the lovely distortion on those guitars. Damn.
Teenage Tom Petties is the solo project of UK singer-songwriter / guitarist Tom Brown from the indie rock band Rural France. The name Teenage Tom Petties comes from a Rural France song "Teenage Tom Petty".
