"it's gonna take more than you know..."
THESSENSE (The Essence) is something I like to do occasionally here at AP. It is a shortcut to great music, it is a shoutout, it is less my thoughts on evocative sounds but just information about the song and comments by the songs creator, auteur. Today, I invite you to experience Space Flight and the mellow tenderness and eruptive motivation of "Do You Dream In The Daylight". -RDC
From Space Flight:
"Do You Dream In The Daylight" is the second single from the upcoming Space Fight album of the same name, written during the uncertain early days of the pandemic. A dreamy, dark, yet somehow hopeful tune, with swirling synths and guitar riffs that pull the listener into its world. The song was mixed by Andrew Maury (Lizzo, Shawn Mendes), features Kenny Bernard of Ra Ra Riot on drums, and was produced by Zach Abramson and Space Fight.
Space Fight was formed by 3 friends (2 Brits, 1 American) in a London pub over a pint back in 2010. A new album, “Do You Dream In The Daylight” is dropping this June, with an LP release show at the Mercury Lounge in NYC on June 22nd. The current lineup is NJ native Spen Miles on vocals, bass, and keys, and Brit-currently-residing-in-Japan Tom Welch on guitars, with various session musicians and friends contributing in other places.
