"we are losing our words and words become ghosts..."
There is an emotional gravitas to Sweden alt rock / post punk HUMANOIDS in the glacial angst of "Arsonist". As the refrain, "we are losing our words and words become ghosts..." reverberates in my head there is a decidedly dour feeling that the collective we are heading down a road with our foot flooring the gas pedal that we might not be able to come back from. The sinewy rock break feels as hard as the divisions between us and those who want to tear us down. Bittersweet, heavy like paranoia, "Arsonist" feels like a theme song to a subversive movie where the monsters are us.
From press notes:
HUMANOIDS set to music the daily madness that grins from every nicely draped corner, while neighbors, peers, and other idiots fall out of trees, bite into our necks, and the global orientation lies moaning on the street with broken legs.

HUMANOIDS is a rock 'n' roll band. Somewhere between psychedelic stoner and driving beats, the new single ARSONIST finds its way - sexy and smart, urgent and powerful.
