"a kind of atmospheric lullaby"
The unabashedly fully synthetic 'atmospheric lullaby' - esque "Beacon" by Losange, the moniker of French artist Benoit Baudrin feels wondrous, feels like a sonic drug that might just put you in a dream state. I appreciate the self propelled tones, ultimately minimalistic but having such artful inertia. As if juggling hundreds of notes in the air the sense of movement here that Baudrin orchestrates is everything. For being captured with only synths it is beautiful and maybe a wee bit ironic that in my mind's eye and maybe yours, I see the fleeting movements of nature, of raindrops falling, of birds wings flapping in slow motion, of water cutting paths through snow. That being said I see busy city life too but then again, the urban jungles are still jungles, still life ebbing and flowing.
LINER NOTES:
"beacon is a kind of atmospheric lullaby, with synths that breathe, purely synthetic, highly sensitive and melodic. It's a single from my new album which comes out on June 12th."
I will keep my ear open Baudrin.
