"Hand in hand we walk Armageddon lane / It appears we’re the only ones alive / Silence falls upon the earth tonight / We glide amongst the shadows and the lights..."
The sheer unrelenting bass throttle and pounding Albini-esque drumbeat of "There's A Spirit Moving In Your House" by Portland's indie rock collective King Black Acid, centered around founding member singer-songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Daniel Riddle, blossoms into layered fury, darkly dreamy, with hints of emo and 80's alt punk. As I listened to Riddle's raucous vocal countenance that runs the gamut between hushed breathy vox and tense gritty snarls uttering darkly romantic poetry, "Now we must invent a language new / This living home will need a loving touch / We shall build again amongst the wreckage dear / Then crown ourselves the rulers of the world...", with equal parts self realized madness and repose, I couldn't help but think of a collision of artists like Pixies and Death Cab for Cutie with a thick overlap of each on the other.
The chorus says:
Now we’re dancin’ on a dead man’s grave
There’s a spirit moving in your house
It's a victory for mad love"
"Victory For Mad Love" being the name of King Black Acid's latest album.

There's A Spirit Moving In Your House is the new music video and single from King Black Acid's full length album Victory For Mad Love. The song tells a post-apocalyptic love story of healing and redemption in a time of chaos and collapse. Victory For Mad Love features ten new, masterfully crafted, dirty pop songs produced and mixed by Darrell Thorp (OutKast, Beck, FooFighters) and Hugo Nicolson (Bjork, Radiohead, Father John Misty)
Great Official Video and great blend of subversion and commercial sounds with such a killer sing-a-long chorus. This is the kind of track that I would want to hear loud and live in some slightly cramped venue. My favorite kind of venue.

KBA continue to forge new sonic territory out on the cutting edge of rock and roll where the lines of stoner pop, bubble-grunge, glassy-eyed soul and progressive dirt-bag symphonics all blend into one harmonious homunculus of sound that invite the listener on a journey deep into the dreamlife.
