"Come back to me /Eventually, please, don't take your time, yea / The way that I see; it's only two weeks / Please, don't take more time, yea / Just leave everything behind..."
The raw doo wop punk / ska dipped dreaminess of "Two Weeks" by Los Angeles based artist / label owner Pop Cautious might be as defined by it's gleefully live persona as it is for it's love for a genre that has always felt underappreciated by the masses, (hey, maybe that was a good thing). As I listen to the clipped guitar down beats, muted fuzzy power chords and slapping drums as a framework for the winking harmonies, that, by the way feel ultimately high school crush romantic (yeah really), Pop Cautious is most probably lending a loving nod to band's like Sublime, The Specials, Real Big Fish and maybe even early No Doubt.
a sin to be famous
At the end of the line
Yet we all have to face this
Which direction to take,
not to make a mistake?
So stay close with me darlin'
Ooooo"
