"Georgia says / you wanna try again..."
The inviting crunch and romantic croon of "Georgia Says" by New York's indie outfit Meyru wraps around you easily and stirs up one of those late night movies in your head that is not about a woman in peril or a disgruntled hit man but, instead, a relationship story with both soft and hard punches and characters you actually want to root for. The track steps right into this movie, there is no long intros or preamble to the dreaminess which is good because the song feels short as it is. The thumpiness, that no light rocker should do without has some 80's power pop leanings and 2000's edges too like it could have been in the "Garden State" soundtrack. The tubular sounding guitar embellishments, lush hushed vocal countenance and desire to read between the lines sticks in your head, like really sticks in your head.
LINER NOTES:
[This song was produced by our friend Conrad Hsiang (of Public Library Commute notoriety) and mixed by Dave Cerminara (Father John Misty, Phosporescent, Flye, etc...).
It's a story of a long love gone awry and contemplates the notion of trying again. We envision this being the type of song that fit in well in a coming of age movie soundtrack.]

Meyru should expand this track out, as I said earlier, it ends too soon, reveal more of the story. I will be quietly waiting.
