"You won’t be a puppet / A good little boy / You thought you could do what you want and all that / But the big boys are coming..."
The blood stained, cracked feargach punk tribalism of "Big Boys" by Seattle spawned The Unfit and from their "Disconnected" compilation album, has far reaching interpretive tentacles that seem so very relevant, at least to me. Now the politico punk implications may not be clear cut and so the punching swings might even be embraced by opposing forces, who knows (there is not direct seeds revealed from the band), but it certainly feels like it is about the Autocratic among us who flash Nazi signs and then laugh about it. Maybe, the big boys even stage fake assassination attempts and tamper with access to voting or burn votes right in front of us, by match or by satellite transmissions.
"You believed in justice
You believed in the truth
Sometimes things aren’t what they seem
And now the big boys are coming"
What ever the meaning behind "Big Boys" really is the feral tribalistic drum beats, the booming bass anchor, the stabs of guitar distortions and the scowling vocals makes you want to lace up your Docs and hit the streets, protest for truth, justice and the real American way.
"The big boys are coming
The big boys are coming
You never thought it could happen to you
But now the big boys are coming
Get ready"
The big boys are coming
You never thought it could happen to you
But now the big boys are coming
Get ready"

The Unfit are a group of nobodies from Seattle. Probably some of the least interesting people you've never met. They don't really like to do much, but sometimes they get together and pretend they're a band.
These astounding phenoms could live comfortably off their portfolio incomes at this point, so what's the rush boys? The brilliant literal geniuses don't even all live in the same city anymore. They don't even all live in the same state! How do they do it? I'll tell you how they do it: Faith. Faith in The System. Faith in the magnanimous governmental, financial, and corporate institutions that provide for us, teach us right from wrong, nourish us with their foods and medicines, bestow the wisdoms of their sciences and technologies, protect us from ourselves, and mold us in their glorious image. Glory to The System. May doubters be punished for their wickedness.
The Unfit praise the system, and it pays. It pays cash money. Think about all this while you listen to their new product, now available for purchase. It might just be the best product purchase of any product you've ever purchased.
The Unfit, indie rock, alt rock, stoner rock, feargach punk, politico punk, dark stories, sardonic lyrics, hard to swallow truths, Seattle spawned, "Big Boys", New album "Disconnected", on vinyl Feb 28th, 2025,
