"Everyone found / Pieces of pieces / Break it all down..."
The heavy dromantic darkness and faraway lighthouse of "bombay beach", by Minneapolis, Minnesota based synthpop duo wolfbabycup, feels persistently somber, yet beautiful too. Much of the allure is the sonic choices here. Against a simple machine beat, the synth colors feel wonderfully vintage and dark as if seeded from 60's Italian horror movies. The counterposition against the breathy shoegaze / dream pop vocals feels perfectly, emotionally yin and yang even though if this were a movie someone is getting their head chopped off. As if an amalgam of Beach House and SubRosa you feel light in the darkness and darkness in the light.
At least this is how I am feeling. Someone put this track in the next Hulu or Netflix youthful horror romp.
To meet it
To see it
Everyone found
Pieces of pieces
Break it all down
Baby, you want
To be it
To need it
We need it
For us
And everyone too
Keep it
You need it
Keep it
You need it"
[Ok] Going to languish in this dark beauty.
