The somber yet hopeful grooves and survivorship of "SLUGLIFE", by West Midlands England spoken electro punk duo BIG SPECIAL, buries itself in your walking feet and courses it's way up into your heart and soul. Whether it is Callum Moloney's absolutely magnetic drum beat, the beautiful walking bass line that beckons you to follow it, the tropical punk acoustic shapes, surfy pop Western noir electric guitar attacks, curly synths and Joe Hicklin's captivating vocal countenance, "Sluglife" is destined to explode in big ways, to end up in a movie or the next Netflix or Hulu binger. This is the thing, Hicklin's thoughtful spoken word storytelling is beyond cool (way cool) but the man can sing too, his emotive vocal wail getting deeply under your skin.

"Sluglife is about living low to the ground and going slow. Feeling guilt for needing a bit of time to pull yourself up by your boot straps. It’s about working through the self hate that can come through hard times."
