The unwinding art indie rock spiral of "Office Words" by Dortmund based composer / musician David Kleinekottmann, and from his upcoming latest album "A Vibrant Sea" (dropping April 17th, 2026), comes alive with a dynamic wash of art rock meets post punk. I am loving the proggy tactile bass guitar attack, the dark haze of electronica and ambient sounds, the runaway beats and David's vocal countenance that cracks the space between romance wave and stoic detachment. I am feeling connections (psychically or otherwise) to Joy Division, to Bauhaus, to The Knife and others, attitudinally etc maybe with elements of dada thrown in for good measure. Still delving but feeling a fair share of experimentalism or maybe just quirkiness, do you know what I mean?? In any event "Office Words" feels bigger every time I listen to it.
