The sort of gothic new wave / post punk realms of "The Rabbit" by Tania Cassette, the solo moniker of Tania Costello (also known as the voice Glass Spells), feels like the twisted cinematic ache lying between mid 70's giallo and contemporary A24 horror. Maybe it's the sonic aspects that, in a way, have a DIY cheekiness to them or the vocal countenance that feels intense but maybe winks at you too, or maybe it is the background synth lines that feel nostalgic like an ARP Odyssey luring around corners. Adjacent sonic iconography might include Animotion, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie And The Banshees or contemporary artists like Kraków Loves Adana and Ötzi. These ping pong thought processes bounce in an old guys brain, those of you defined as Generation Alpha may think of other musical touchstones but, then, I only know what I know.
