"just be honest"
Sometimes there is so much goddamn baggage and hurt feelings, mixed feelings from past huge successes, fireworks of love, broken promises, and fucking up really badly that it is hard to be honest. Sometimes honesty can cut and twist like a knife or turn dark like a piece of rotted fruit.
On the song Call It What It Is featuring Maisy Stella, Hank Compton intimately, candidly expresses dark times and maybe reaching out to someone "let's just play pretend" to feel something. Great vocal performance with the amazing Maisy Stella (Nashville TV Series). Their voices intertwine in such a deeply emotional way.
"Since starting his own project, Hank has performed at many venues including The Ryman in Nashville, Greene Hall in Texas and The Troubadour in Los Angeles. His storytelling writing dives into the intense topics of love, lust, drugs, drinking, loneliness and finding identity. "

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Since starting his own project, Hank has performed at many venues including The Ryman in Nashville, Greene Hall in Texas and The Troubadour in Los Angeles. His storytelling writing dives into the intense topics of love, lust, drugs, drinking, loneliness and finding identity. He dares to question the confines of the conservative bubble where he grew up, which bleeds into his music. Hank contrasts his vulnerability with intensity, creating a tension of opposites. While his lyrics may be deep, the music is contagious and his only hope for sharing his stories is that others will find a piece of themselves within his records.
Masiy Stella is Lennon Stella’s sister. They were a duo (the sisters) and were both on the show “Nashville”.
