"hell, yeah this is Beatles-esque"
When the track Lovely Molly by Long Island's (NY) The Como Brothers landed on my electronic desk and I pushed play, I could not help but think of the Beatles. Hell, yeah Lovely Molly, an ode to Andrew and Matt Como's uncle's late, beloved dog is Beatles-esque and I did flash on Lovely Rita from the Beatles' 1967 "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. Lovely Rita was written and sung by Paul McCartney (accredited to Lennon / McCartney) and while Lovely Molly has that definite McCartney style, The Como Brothers, as singer songwriters don't sound like Paul or John vocally. If anything, Lovely Molly might sound more like Jack White writing a Beatles-like song which he does from time to time.
Homage or not, Lovely Molly is incredibly satisfying to listen to and when I read that it is about a four legged friend I love it even more.
