"if only for a while"
The track Smokescreen by Uk's genre benders Tourists cast an odd, but cool collections of imagery in my brain. I mean, the potent bass, double time drumming and cagey guitar work made me think of Duran Duran pushed through a Television filter and then pushed through a The Cult filter and then pushed through a Duran Duran filter (again) and then through a Gang Of Four filter and then, finally, a Tourists' filter.
The five piece band out of Torquay twist elements of shoegaze and 80's synth pop with their own potent post punkery. It is incredibly engaging and tightly wound music. Loving it.
