"I threw up the Devil"
DG Solaris is the new musical project from Danny Green, leader of cult indies, Laish, along with his partner, LG. Single has released a glimpse of their debut album, "Spirit Glow" in the form of the track, Brother I'll Ask Her, a jagged burner. It starts off slowly as Green's vox lazily floats against droning chords and a percussive odd cadence and then takes off at a running clip, only to return to it's barbiturate drip, this time L.G. Single lending her vox bathed in more of a psychedelia only to sprint again. These shifting time signatures make for an invigorating experience moving from a curious amble to a celebratory run, from a sort of 40's jazz club come on to a late 70's garden rocker and I like that.
Incidentally, "Spirit Glow" was written when the lovebirds were on their honeymoon in Peru.
