"never seem to lead my way"
Sometimes from a purely artistic sense you will meet kids that from an early age look at the world a bit different than you and I. Who knows where poetic streams of consciousness come from. Like with anything there is that nature and nurture aspect and for most things the answer lies in a blending of both. Whatever the answer is or if the answer is even important, L.A. based duo Chaos Chaos, comprised of sisters Asy and Chole Saavedra were those kids and now at age 26 and 24 have been writing, performing, recording, touring since their mid teens (Smoosh). Their latest track, Many Roads starts with Chole's dominant drum beat as Asy's vox (and keys) sweep over. The track by any definition is lushly rendered in a dream theater sort of way. When the pop forward chorus comes in it defies generations but (for me) there is a definite 80's John Hughes glitter ball prom scene here within the heart breaking tenderness of the melodies and harmonies. In the end, Many Roads will be listened to when tears fall on young cheeks amid unrequited loves and persistent never ending crushes.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Born in Seattle at the height of the grunge era, LA-based duo Chaos Chaos is made up of sisters Asy and Chloe Saavedra. Growing up, Asy and Chloe were heavily inspired by genre-defying and outspoken musicians like Björk and PJ Harvey and picked up instruments and songwriting at ages 8 and 10. They formed the band Smoosh and by age 15, released three critically acclaimed albums, toured and performed with the likes of Bloc Party, Sleater-Kinney, Cat Power and Death Cab for Cutie, and performed at Lollapalooza and on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! In 2012, Asy and Chloe formed Chaos Chaos. The sisters have composed music for TV shows including Rick and Morty, and Lucifer, released the single Terryfold in collaboration with Justin Roiland co-creator of Rick and Morty (Listen to Terryfold here ), and released their first single Dripping with Fire, which Noisey called “a surreal dive into themes like sisterhood, estrangement and growing older”. Both Dripping with Fire and new single Pink Politics will be off their self-titled debut LP to be released on May 15th.
Now at 26 and 24, Asy and Chloe are at an age most begin their careers but have been performing and releasing music for 15 years. Chloe and Asya are avid musicians (Chloe is a contributor to Tom Tom Magazine, has been featured in Modern Drummer, is endorsed by Paiste, and has guest drummed on Late Night With Seth Meyers while Asya was a featured vocalist in Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian’s God Help the Girl album and has done analog synth-based scoring for unannounced video games and TV shows). The two use their music as a vessel for activism (they teamed up with a Brooklyn prison to bring their live show to inmates). “As a female musician and someone who cares deeply about equality, I feel it’s my responsibility to consider whatever voice I have. I’m not afraid to destruct walls I believe to be unjust. I love music because it provides a platform for this but also because it makes us aware of both something temporary and something eternal in us. Songs provide a meeting point of these two things in a way I’ve been in love with for as long as I can remember.” - Asy
