"never can erase it"
While I generally stay away from injecting press notey stuff in my reviews / comments you have to read the following because I love it so much:
Wizard Woes hail from San Diego, where Ryan (DUDES, Heavy Hawaii) and Chad (Death Day) met living in the same apartment complex. After becoming friends they decided to make music that sounded as if “T-Pain & David Byrne started a shoegaze band”.
I love it because I think circumstance and the place those circumstances happen are so important in informing one's art. I like that this chance meeting led to the creation of art and in San Diego in particular, a place where there is a heightened sense of possibility. Somehow the possible feels just a bit more probable there. Maybe it is the sunshine, the surfer mentality or the cross blending of cultures and music but it is a vibrant place to make dreams happen.
Wizard Woes' track Dancing After Midnight may or may not make me think of T-Pain & David Byrne but there is a divergent twist here, a soundscape that conjures up an alchemy of lounge rock, tropical punk and new wave. Possible dreams and intoxicating drinks with umbrellas in them.

The album bounces between genres, highlighting their talent for catchy hooks and dense arrangements.
